So, after a morning of trying to beat back the clutter, I rewarded the kids with a trip to Goodberry's Frozen Yogurt. (Yum!) It had been a long cranky morning for this mommy, so when "Respect" came on the radio, I took the opportunity to sort of sing out my crankiness (read: I was really belting it out.). Miles looks at me after the song is over and in all honesty asks, "Mom, why aren't you a famous singer?" I replied, "Because I decided to have six kids instead." Warm heart, lots of love for that boy. It was a cute moment. And, of course, even through all the madness that is summer in our house, there isn't anything in the world I'd rather be doing than being cranky and bored with these six monkeys all summer long.
We go to my parents' house on Saturday, so let the fun begin. Grandpa's house + cousins = heaven for my kids. They absolutely can't wait to get out there. Six cousins are already out there, and it's killing my kids to know that the party has somewhat started without them.
Lindsay's been at Girls' Camp this week. I hope she's having fun. She has some very conscientious leaders, so I'm confident she's having the time of her little life. I have such huge expectations for Girls' Camp after the Girls' Camp that I was privileged to go to growing up: LADASA at Camp Lehi in the Santa Cruz Mountains. It was amazing.
Well, here are some pictures:
My annual attempt at a Father's Day gift which I miraculously got out to the grandfathers on time this year, but that's a story for another post:

So, sad that none of your children look alike. Hee Hee. Calvin is precious. Can't wait to see you when you're out here. Call me so we can get together.
Love that you posted! I've been really surprised at how smoothly our summer has gone thus far, but I'm just waiting waiting waiting for the moment it all comes crashing in.
And I hear ya on the blankets. Cannon drinks from pink sippy cups and all that jazz....it just doesn't seem to matter all that much.
Love those little moments from the kids. You really could be a famous singer, by the way.
Cute story! Miles is so sweet (and right!). I need to see more pictures!! I am so sad we will be missing California these next two weeks, so you gotta post some pics for me, ok? I wanna see some more of Calvin! Love the one of all the kids. Great job getting that out on time...I'm still trying to pull an announcement together and our Father's Day pictures of the kids in Matt's shirt and tie. We'll see when that happens...
Love ya!!
I skipped across your blog and immediatly love that you said you locked yourself in your room with the baby and that everyone else bloggs about having a glorious summer will all their kids! I have a 5 year old and a 8 week old and I tend to lock myself in my room. Infact check out my post about Canada, that is where I was going to run away to yesterday! Of course you have 4 more kids than I do so, GO you! I think I will follow you!
beautiful family, gorgeous baby, I'm incredibly jealous! As for the "singer" note- TOO SWEET! I overhead one of my 5 year olds this week say to an older neighber friend while playing, "Want to hear me sing opera? I'm real good like my mom."
