I'm back..

Hudson, Miles, Mikaela, and Lindsay on the slopes. Hot doggers!Samuel and Dalton, cute as can be four year old skiers!!

I do not understand my little blog here. Anyone who knows about blogs can feel free to try to help me out here. What is the deal with the weird title? I even went in and "edited" the blog out that said the weird title. I just basically erased it, but now it just puts up the next posting's title. Weird.

Well, I don't have a lot of time to add pictures, but I'll try really quick.

Last week for spring break we went to UT to ski. You ask, "Why would you drive all the way to UT to ski when you have great skiing in your own lovely state of CO?" Well, the answer is simple: COUSINS!!!! We met up with Don and Larissa's kids, and the kids all had an absolute blast skiing together for a couple of days. They also had tons of fun at Uncle Stewart's house.

Well, here are some pictures. This is my first time attempting pictures on this new BETA format, whatever that means, anyway...

Some more pictures

I know it's so sad when you go to look at someone's blog, and there's nothing new there (hint, hint, Catherine and Larissa...Leslie, you're off the hook because of technical difficulties). So, I thought I'd just write a little something and send a few pictures. Tim's out of town this week in Vegas, so I'm bored.

Here's a picture of when we went ice-skating with Grandpa Call in Old Town Fort Collins. It was fun. Mom mentioned in her letter that Dad fell. It was funny, because we were skating around. I mentioned to Dad, "Dad, I remember you as being a better skater." He started to laugh and said, "I remember me as a better skater, too!" It was cute. The kids did well. It was freezing out.

Lindsay, Miles, Grandpa Call, Samuel, and Caroline

This was last week when we had the missionaries over for dinner and Family Home Evening. It was so cute. Wesley just climbed up there and sat between the two missionaries. We had to get a picture. Also, it's special, because the day he was born a member of our Stake Presidency was there (Roger McConkie, Bruce R.'s nephew, not that it's important, really...). He got up and bore his testimony that he had a strong feeling that this baby boy would one day grow up to be a great missionary. Too cute to see him already being drawn to them. :):)

Happy New Year!!

Well I've just used up about 30 minutes of my precious nap time to try to figure out how to get rid of "Some more October Fun" on the top of my blog. Also, I don't know why my index is all the way down at the bottom. I guess I'm trying to get too fancy with adding pictures and videos and stuff.

We had a great Christmas. Uncle Dan came for a short visit before, and Grandma and Grandpa Call visited for the week after. It was really fun.

The kids had a full two weeks off of school plus two snow days before the break and an extra day off on January 8th. It was a loooong break. We are all excited to be back on the routine of school, etc. (even if they don't know it yet...)

I'll try to attempt a few pictures.

Uncle Dan and Miles being pulled behind the van in tubes. The roads still look this bad almost a full month later. I don't think they know how to plow out here. Oh well.

The kids opening up Uncle Dan's present: a remote controlled airplane.

Christmas Eve with everyone in their Christmas PJs.

Christmas morning

Kidnapping Samuel for breakfast on his birthday, the 26th, with Grandma and Grandpa Call. We had so much fun.

Blizzard of 2006

We survived the Blizzard of 2006!! It was fun. Tim and the kids are absolutely loving it. They were off sledding for a couple of hours this morning. Wesley is sick with a fever/cough thing, so I just stayed inside with him. (This CA girl's not so sure snow is as fun as everyone else thinks it is...)

Anyway, here are some clips and photos from the day's festivities.
Here's Sam tubing down the ramp they made in the front yard

Here's Lindsay in her snow tunnel

Wesley's Physical Therapy

Okay, okay. I know. It's getting to be a bit much. This is my third blog for the day. I've just wanted to get these pics and videos on here forever.

Here's Tim giving Wesley some physical therapy. The kids were loving it. Wesley was seriously into it. I don't know if it was just timing, or if Tim's "work-outs" actually helped (he didn't usually do the treadmill, but work with a theraball and walking between chairs while taunting with a favorite book...), but after just three days of working with him, Wesley started to walk on his own a lot. Now, about a week later, I'd say that he walks about 80% of the time. He's so cute.

OCTOBER FUN!!!

We have been having such a fun month. We've carved pumpkins, enjoyed the fall colors, and even played in the snow. The most memorable moment of the month was Miles' and Lindsay's Piano Institute Halloween Party/Recital. They each had a Halloween Song they've been practicing for the month, and then, on Saturday, they performed it at the party. We were so proud of them. They were both definitely nervous (Lindsay was more vocal about her nerves. Poor Miles. I didn't even notice his until I saw the pale-ness of his face after he finished.) They both did great, especially considering it was their first time to play in front of people.

October Fun

I haven't posted in a while. We've been having a lot of fun. Wesley's finally walking a little more. I'll post a cute video of some of his "practicing" with Tim.

Also, the kids had their Halloween Piano Recital/Costume Party. They've been working on a Halloween song for a while now, and they each got to perform it for an audience. They were both sooooo nervous. I wasn't sure Lindsay would do it. She was freaking out the entire morning. They both did awesome, though. We were so proud of them. Miles played "The Imperial March" (Darth Vader's theme), and Lindsay played "Mister Pumpkin".

Enjoy the videos and pictures.

Wesley's walking...sort of

Poor kid. He'll never get all of the attention to himself. There's always someone (or sometimes even three other little people) trying to be in the limelight with him. Oh well. The troubles on a middle child (and believe me I know ALL about them. Hee, hee.)

All's well here. Hope you like the video.

Visit to the Farm

a picnic lunch at a table just for two boys
Wesley had fun feeding the goat.
Sam's showing off, getting ready to feed the goats.

Samuel, Wesley, and I went to the Farm that's just in the North part of the city. We had fun feeding oats to sheep, goats, and pigs. We also saw chickens, ducks, cows, and horses. I thought I'd post a few cute pictures.

I figured it out!!!

I haven't been able to log onto my blog for a few weeks now. I finally figured out the problem, so I'm back!! I know you're all thrilled.

We had a fun visit from Jen, Matt, and Gracie Hansen this weekend. They are thinking about moving to Colorado. We took them up to Estes Park (a mountain town right at the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park). It is elk season. All the elk come down out of the mountains and basically roam the city. We caught up with a bunch on a private golf course that they just routinely close down for the month of October, knowing that the elk will just take over for that month. It was crazy. We were literally just a few feet from these bad boys.

We watched this guy for a while. He crossed the river, too.

Ooops!

Ooops!! I guess you have to add the picture before you hit "publish post".

I'm still learning. Here's Wesley.

Also, here we are planting a fruit tree in our backyard.
Bye!

Another Day, Another Dollar...$$$

Well, our washer died. We can't really complain. We got the washer/dryer together for $75 shortly after moving in. It's served us well. I mean, we do at least 2 loads of laundry a day. Thankfully, we were home at its parting. We were getting ready to take the kids out to the bus stop when we saw the "lake" making a "river" towards our front entry-way. What if it had been one of those days where I put a load of wash in and then head out to do errands. Eeeeeks. We would have had a flooded house.

Anyway, long story short, we got ourselves one of those cool, front-loading machines that supposedly save all sorts of energy. It seems nice. But what a price tag!!! Then, of course, right as we're getting it installed, Tim goes outside to get something out of the garage. He pushes the garage door opener, and the entire garage door almost cracks off the ceiling of the garage. Cute!! Thus, the title: "Another day, another dollar..."

I'm not quite sure how to title pictures yet, so I'll just describe the above picture here. Wesley is at that wonderful stage when he doesn't let anyone feed him. He's got to feed himself, making for horrific messes and ensuing clean-ups. Here he is after "eating" yogurt this morning.

I'm off.

Love to all,
Caroline

Our First Attempt

First Day of School

Well, Leslie convinced us that this would be an easy way to keep in touch, so we're going for it. I guess we can change it as we go along. Let's just do a quick up-date and put on a picture from the first day of school. It's all pretty low-key and unprofessional, but I figure something is better than nothing.

We've basically been running a hospital around here for a week now. Thank goodness for Tim. He's been holding the fort up. I've been sick for an entire week. I guess it's been off and on, but it sure has been a long week. I'm thinking we're all on the mend, so maybe we can get around to doing the little things that went undone for a week. You know, homework, piano practicing, cleaning, making real meals...eeeks. Moms aren't supposed to get sick.

Well, this will be short today, because I'm curious about how all this really works.

Signing off for now.
