O, Christmas Tree!

Sometimes I feel like we have no real family traditions.  We spent so many years in school sort of free-loading on all the holidays with my parents or Tim's parents.  They were great years, but it's made it so that we don't really have something that we've done since "our first Christmas together".  Anyway, when we finally moved here to Colorado, we thought for our first Christmas here, we would do the Colorado thing and head up to the mountains and cut our own.  Well, it was a total bust, and we ended up coming home without one.  The snow was like 18" deep; the wind chill factor was probably 5 degrees.  Add to that the 60+ minute drive, and you can see why we sort of amended that "tradition" to the "pick your tree up at the grocery store parking lot" tradition.  So, for the last 5 years we've done that.  It's fun.  They come all wrapped up, and we have sort of an unveiling moment when we get home and unravel it.

This year we actually went to The Home Depot.

Then, just because I know Grandma Helen is reading this lately, here are some other pictures from the past couple of weeks.

The Human Sandwich: this little game started when Lindsay and Miles were probably about 4 and 2.  It's always a crowd favorite.  Here it's with Samuel, Wesley, and Julia.
